Jonny Fraser Memorial Fund
Jonny Fraser tragically lost his life at the age of 21 trying to save the life of his drowning friend on a backpacking expedition across India. Jonny made full use of all the opportunities his education offered him. He had a profound belief in individuals and their power to change the world for the better. In Jonny's memory, his family have established a scholarship fund with the British Friends to help students from the developing world, especially Africa, to attend the Hebrew University. There they will be able to study choice of medicine, animal welfare, agriculture and social work. The Frasers believe the Fund will provide practical help and empower these students to improve their local communities once they return home. In the words of Jonny's family: "Jonny had a profound belief in individuals and their power to change the world for the better - the power of one. He had a great love of Israel and we are sure he would have been proud to be associated with this project." Read more about Jonny Fraser |
