The Hebrew University of Jerusalem requires all students and postdoctoral fellows to be covered by adequate health insurance for the duration of their stay in Israel.
In order to expedite the post-arrival absorption process, we strongly recommend this be completed before your departure.
Please note that since Covid-19 Israeli embassies/consulates/visa centers now require to present proof of health insurance coverage when applying for a visa to Israel.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem recommends that you purchase the local Harel Yedidim insurance plan for HUJI students that provides extensive coverage for international students, who benefit from medical services across the country. The price for Rehovot campus students is 12 NIS a day.
How to purchase/extend Harel Yedidim health insurance:
fill out the "Health Insurance application form" (make sure to write your student number) and e-mail it to Ms. Orit Yoavi: email@example.com
If your lab is paying for your health insurance, please fill out the "Health Insurance application form" (make sure to write your student number) and send it to your lab manager for him/her to submit to Ms. Maya Valass along with the lab's budget number.
